
Greg Robart
CEO
As SGIN’s Chief Executive Officer, Greg champions the organization in establishing its goals and supports the members as they drive to accomplish them. SGIN strives to evolve the Smart Energy sector to support the energy transition activities through education, advocacy and supporting system deployment of smart energy technology. Prior to SGIN, as Siemens’ Global Lead for electrical utility business transformation, Greg supported utilities in realizing their digitalization strategy. As a seasoned Professional Engineer, Greg has wide ranging expertise in engineering principles, both for the electrical grid and building systems. This includes critical customer building distribution and distributed control system design and power backup systems, as well as communication infrastructure solutions. Greg has additional experience in industrial power distribution design and commissioning along with power quality and protection co-ordination studies. Within Siemens’ Energy Management (EM) Division, Greg also lead the consultants and architects for the PTI consulting group across Canada. Greg was fully engaged with utility customers in their transformation and modernization programs, and supports customers in Canada, the United States and Jordan on concepts ranging from ‘Utility of the Future’, Operations Center of the future, and alternative distributed energy storage solutions.

Anthony Onyewadume
PROJECT MANAGER
Anthony Onyewadume is a Project and Operations Manager with over 16 years’ experience driving revenue growth by successfully leading multi-functional teams, new project launches, and market research initiatives. He has a BSC in Electrical & Electronics engineering from the University of Lagos in Nigeria, an MBA from Business School Netherlands, and is currently concluding an MSC at the University of New Brunswick. He is accomplished at handling complex projects with changing demands and practiced in keeping team morale high while meeting aggressive deadlines. In the integrated service maintenance space of the telecommunications industry, Anthony has, with the help of his teams, supported several telecom carriers from the site acquisition phase, through commissioning, to network operations, optimization, and other stages of their business lifecycle. His corporate and technical governance experience cuts across Western, Eastern, and Southern parts of Africa; the most recent being his role as the senior project manager for a local contract in Zambia serving industry giants like MTN, Airtel, I.H.S, and the Telecoms regulator Zicta. In his free time, Anthony can be found listening to a wide variety of music and playing soccer, or basketball.

Dr. Maha Tantawy
POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW
Dr. Maha Tantawy is a post-doctoral fellow at the faculty of Management, University of New Brunswick (UNB), Canada. She completed her doctoral degree with a focus on entrepreneurship and innovation from the University of New Brunswick, Canada in 2020. Her doctoral dissertation examined the outcomes of Entrepreneurship Education and Training on the development of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship mindset. Maha also has research interests in sustainability and innovation with a focus on the power sector. She has developed research projects with other faculty members at the faculty of Management, University of New Brunswick, which examine the relation between policy mix, the technology innovation system, and innovative pathways of the smart grid. Maha has also collaborated with other faculty members at UNB faculty of Management to examine entrepreneurial and organizational learning orientation as well as continuous improvement at power utilities in their transition to the new utility business model. As a doctoral student, she participated as a Research Assistant in a global study examining the outcomes of entrepreneurship education at the university level, the Entrepreneurship Education Evaluation (EEE) project, fully funded by an Insight Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). She successfully published a number of articles in leading journals in that field. She also presented her work in a multiple of international conferences. She graduated from the School of Business, American University in Cairo (AUC) in 2000 with high honors. Maha received her MBA degree from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot Watt University, Scotland, UK in 2008. During the period 2000-present: Maha has been appointed in professional positions in the Business field as well as the academic field. Maha has lived in several countries and likes travelling a lot. She thinks that she is lucky to have been exposed to different cultures and have experienced the beauty of diversity.

Digambar Aakula
RESEARCH ANALYST INTERN
Professionally experienced Business Development Manager, Digambar has been in the power sector for the past 6+ years, having profound knowledge of Tendering, Contracting and government regulations on Energy Storage, Electric Vehicle, Charging Stations, Renewable Energy, Railway Overhead Electrification(OHE) System, Transmission and Distributions system, Forecasting & Scheduling of wind and solar. In addition, managing auditing & operations with a special focus on Electricity portfolio and handling multi-level tasks ineffective way. In his former Business Development role, Digambar exercised a calculated and methodical approach to problem solving. While he is independently motivated, he appreciates collective efforts and collaborate productively within group settings. Moreover, he is competent in presentation skills along with maintaining large set of data. Recently he was awarded the Best Viewer’s Choice in the year of 2021 from RBC UNBeatable Ideas Competition for one of his entrepreneurial idea called “UNO” It works. Digambar enjoys a wide range of sports and fitness activities. Most of the weekends you’ll find him playing cricket. In addition, he spends his time in Indian stock markets, cryptocurrency, and watching Dragons Den.

Swati Singhal
SMART ENERGY ELECTRIFICATION PROJECT LEAD
Swati brings more than a decade of experience in the energy industry and is skilled in assessing the global energy markets and regulatory frameworks. She is adept in business development, project management, risk assessment, commercial discussion, and negotiation, energy cost modeling, and ESG reporting. She holds an MBA in power management and a bachelor of technology in electrical engineering. Her background is in devising strategies to improve processes and to create new avenues for companies to invest in new markets. At SGIN, as Project Lead – she is responsible for planning, design, and delivery of projects by engaging all stakeholders.
